CU Dept. of Radiology Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Radiology plays an essential role in the modern healthcare delivery system. It is the very rare individual who will traverse their life span without the use of a radiologist’s expertise. Being an essential part of modern healthcare, we are required to be knowledgeable of the great diversity in the populations of people which healthcare serves. It is, therefore, imperative that the Department of Radiology embrace the provision of a culturally informed and sensitive system of care to potentiate the overall health of the communities we serve.

The University of Colorado Department of Radiology is committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). We have faculty and resident lead DE&I committees that work together to promote awareness, address issues and authentically incorporate initiatives that serve all. Our initiatives include, but are not limited to, a comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion curriculum and community outreach. Furthermore, we work closely with the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and campus-wide Departmental Diversity Leadership.

We as a Department and Institution, denounce any act of hatred and bigotry, and support our own no matter of race, color, creed, religion, or sexual orientation.
