The Institute for Healthcare Quality, Safety & Efficiency (IHQSE) at the University of Colorado Anschutz is excited to share that Denver Health is joining The IHQSE Collective, our new enterprise-level initiative designed to improve patient outcomes, strengthen workforce capacity to drive sustainable change, and improve financial performance. This collaboration continues the IHQSE’s growing partnerships with healthcare organizations and hospital systems to reach healthcare professionals across the United States.
“This partnership represents more than just educational training,” said IHQSE Director, Dr. Jeffrey Glasheen. “It’s about building the capacity for long-term improvement, equipping healthcare teams to adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment, and Denver Health’s commitment to ensuring the success of their staff and positive outcomes for their patients. By welcoming Denver Health into The IHQSE Collective, we are taking another step toward our vision of transforming healthcare.”
As Colorado’s largest safety-net institution, Denver Health provides care for approximately 25% of Denver residents annually regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. In addition to the care it provides across its facilities, Denver Health also operates Denver’s paramedic division and correctional care services, making it one of the most comprehensive health systems in the country.
This scale brings an enormous opportunity to enhance the safety, quality of care and operational efficiency and Denver Health is investing in workforce development is an effective way to meet those challenges head-on. With training through IHQSE’s programs, Denver Health employees, from frontline staff to department leaders, will learn to identify inefficiencies, design safer systems, and lead change initiatives that benefit patients and providers alike.
Speaking to the opportunities presented by The IHQSE Collective partnership, Denver Health’s Chief Quality Officer, Dr. Heidi Wald stated, “Denver Health has a longstanding focus or patient safety, quality, experience and operational efficiency. To further advance our vision of being the most trusted health care provider in Colorado, we must continue to develop the next generation of clinical leaders who will transform health care as we know it. Through this partnership, we look forward to a positive impact on patients and costs of care for years to come.”
