The IHQSE Patient Safety Academy (PSA) is a rigorous development program designed to improve patient case review processes.

Program Overview

In this course, participants will:

  • Learn the structure of effective patient case reviews and apply these skills to lead collaborative case conferences.
  • Apply principles of psychological safety, collaboration, and equity towards patient case reviews.
  • Create measurable improvement processes from case reviews to identify future quality improvement and patient safety opportunities.
  • Apply effective case review processes to drive positive change in the larger learning health system and promote Just Culture.

Program Details

Dates: Fall 2026 dates to be confirmed in spring 2026.
Structure: Two interactive in-person days followed by six months of coaching to implement learned tools.
Location: Anschutz Medical Campus (Aurora, Colo.)
Ideal Candidates: Multi-disciplinary teams (up to five individuals) are strongly encouraged to apply.
