Quality Improvement Writing Group

 

 

The Institute for Healthcare Quality, Safety and Efficiency (IHQSE) is requesting applications for entry into our QI Writing Group. This program will provide a structured and mentored manuscript preparation experience for QI scholars or those just looking to share their QI outcomes. Applicants should have a current or past project with results ready to publish. These type of results may include a project that has reached its goal, a project with a change in a process or outcome measure, a project with an important lesson learned, or a project with a unique intervention. At the end of the program, participants will have a complete and fully edited manuscript ready for submission.

Course Overview

This 10 session, 20-week experience will provide a structured and mentored manuscript preparation experience for QI scholars.  Sessions are 1 hour and delivered via Zoom.

  • Sessions comprise a short didactic followed by mentored manuscript review;
  • Core content include SQUIRE Guidelines, key section requirements, copy/line editing, and responding to reviewers;
  • Participants will prepare manuscript section drafts between sessions;
  • Mentors and peers will review each section draft between sessions and provide constructive feedback during sessions.

Ideal Candidates

All faculty, staff and trainees employed by the University of Colorado School of Medicine, the University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus who have completed a QI project and have an outcome they would like to share through publication.
