Diversity, Health Equity, and Inclusion

Our commitment to our mission

Welcome

The University of Colorado's Department of Dermatology is committed to diversity, health equity, and inclusion in every aspect of our mission. Our mission is to lead collaborative innovation in the understanding and treatment of dermatologic disease through excellence in patient care, education, research, and community engagement.

Read on to see ways we demonstrate our commitment to DEI below.

Patient Care

We are proud to offer dermatologic care delivery at Denver Health Medical Center, a key site in providing care to underserved communities. In addition, our clinical site at CU Dermatology Aurora delivers quality dermatology care to patients, with an emphasis on caring for Medicaid patients and other underserved communities.

Our faculty and residents direct the Dermatology Clinic at the DAWN Clinic in Aurora, Colorado.

Education

We are committed to attracting and training individuals whose varied backgrounds empower them to provide more equitable health care for their patients and communities.

Research

Our faculty publish and raise awareness of health equity issues across their research interests.

Community Engagement

As part of our department's commitment to community, we actively pursue partnerships and service opportunities off campus.
