Pediatric sepsis takes the lives of approximately 3.3 million children each year. In January, the diagnostic criteria for sepsis in children received its first update in two decades when a University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus-led international research team unveiled a novel, data-driven system for diagnosis.
