B.S. Neuroscience and Physiology, University of California, San Diego
Daphne Quang is a graduate student in the Neuroscience program at CU Anschutz. She earned her bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and Physiology from the University of California, San Diego. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. After graduating, she worked in the biotechnology industry as a research professional at a drug discovery start-up in San Francisco.
Currently, she is a member of Dr. Potter’s lab, where she is developing a research project focused on the innate immune system and its role in the development of Down syndrome-associated Alzheimer’s disease (DS-AD). Using human-induced pluripotent stem cells, she is generating cerebral organoid models that contain microglia. Additionally, she is evaluating lead drug candidates that may prevent or delay the onset of DS-AD, to improve the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and potentially benefiting the broader Alzheimer’s disease population.
