The PMOS Multi-Disciplinary Program is a collaboration between the Division of Academic Specialists in OB-GYN and the Women’s Behavioral Health and Wellness Service Line in the Department of Psychiatry. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive and collaborative care to individuals with Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). We provide team care to adult patients with PMOS across the life span.
Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) is a complex disorder with multi-system effects, including on metabolic health, reproductive health, and psychological health. The term Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) more accurately reflects the wide range of systems affected by this condition, including hormonal balance, metabolism, mental health, skin, and the reproductive system.
This updated name aims to improve patient care by supporting earlier and more accurate diagnoses, while also enhancing awareness, understanding, and education among medical professionals.
