Options include hormonal methods like pills, patches, rings, shots, and implants; non-hormonal choices such as condoms, diaphragms, and copper IUDs; emergency contraception; natural family planning; and permanent solutions like tubal ligation. Each method varies in effectiveness, convenience, and side effects. Some also help regulate menstrual cycles or treat conditions like acne and cramps.

Endometrial ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that removes the lining of the uterus to reduce or stop heavy menstrual bleeding. It is an effective alternative for women who do not want a hysterectomy and have not responded to hormonal treatments. While highly successful, endometrial ablation is not recommended for women planning future pregnancies and carries some risks, including infection and uterine perforation.
