University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus pediatric emergency physicians Shannon Flood and Joe Grubenhoff and co-authors Christina M. Osborne, Blake Martin, Christopher Derderian, and Erin Stenson published a case report of a child with severe COVID-19 requiring Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

In the publication, the authors present a case of a 16-year-old female with multiple chronic medical problems who developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with SARS-CoV-2, was cannulated to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and ultimately died due to complications related to ECMO.
