Each year the Children's Hospital Colorado Annual Meeting of the Medical Staff recognizes members of the hospital's Medical Staff for their contributions through peer nominations.  This year they gave out six awards--three of these went to members of our section.  

• Sarah Schmidt: Century Award winner.  The Century Award was established in our 100th year and specifically recognizes a member of the Medical Staff that is five years of less out of training that has provided significant contributions to the Medical Staff and is a true rising star!
• Denise Abdoo:  Outstanding Service Award winner.  The Outstanding Service Award specifically recognizes a member of the Medical Staff who goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service to Children’s Colorado.
• Halden Scott: Excellence in Quality and Patient Safety Award winner.  The Excellence in Quality and Patient Safety award specifically recognizes a multidisciplinary team in the hospital who has made an outstanding contribution to organizational performance improvement, patient safety and/or clinical outcomes. Dr. Scott acknowledged her team members in receiving this award: Lalit Bajaj, Emily Greenwald, Justin Lockwood, Beth Wathen, Elise Rolison, Carter Smith, and Angela Swanson.
