Dr. Schmidt is a leader in informatics and has been a key driver of improved efficiency and utilization of the electronic medical record by emergency faculty members. Her dedication, expertise, and leadership skills have led to streamlining and improving provider workflows for common diagnosis. She consistently seeks to improve the way providers interface with the EMR, both on a global level and for individuals seeking help. Recognizing the high rates of burnout, she has advocated for changes and communicated effectively. She is a shining example of how young faulty can positively impact job satisfaction and minimize burnout. She serves children’s Colorado and the community in a variety of other ways through her clinical work, serving on the resident selection committee, the Denver Public Schools Special Education Advisory Panel and she was appointed by Governor Hickenlooper to the Child Fatality Prevention State Review Team.
