Dr. Denise Abdoo, PhD, CPNP, MSN (Child Abuse and Neglect and Emergency Medicine) is a leader and mentor in the field of child abuse. She has built the only pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program in the state. She has recruited, educated, and mentored nurses in addition to developing policy and protocols. Denise is responsible for much of the quality provision and growth of the program. She is a national expert in the risks of human trafficking and has helped to develop education, risk screening, and clinical care guidelines to improve its recognition and management. She is treasured as a reliable and supportive colleague.
