Affiliated Institutions 

The UCHealth Eye Center is housed in the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute (RMLEI) which is the center of operations for the University of Colorado Department of Ophthalmology and is located adjacent to the University of Colorado Hospital as part of CU Anschutz. The UCHealth Eye Center was established in 2001 and currently has over 80,000 yearly patient visits. As a regional referral center and the only academic eye center within a 500-mile radius, the variety and volume of pathology encountered is immense.

The Denver Health Medical Center is the county hospital for Denver and is a nationally recognized model for health care delivery. It is a level 1 regional trauma center and Denver’s safety net hospital for the uninsured. The eye clinic has 18 exam lanes and is staffed by 3 full-time faculty members.

The Denver Veteran’s Administration Hospital (VA) is the regional referral center for all of Colorado and large areas of neighboring states. This provides a large volume of patients with a variety of pathologies. As a result, the surgical volume at this facility is consistently very high.

The Children’s Hospital Colorado is located on the CU Anschutz campus, just across the street from the UCHealth Eye Center. The hospital opened in 2008 and is consistently recognized as one of the country's top pediatric healthcare facilities. It is a large regional referral center with rich clinical and surgical experience.
