We support a thriving ecosystem of over 50 independent laboratories studying Down syndrome at the University of Colorado. Our Principal Investigators come from over 25 different departments, representing a range of backgrounds and each bringing unique expertise and ideas to our research community.

The Crnic Institute provides the framework to support these scientists via pilot funding grants and access to centralized resources, including a biobank of human samples and a mouse colony for various mouse models of Down syndrome. In addition, our research community meets on a monthly basis to present and discuss research updates and network over lunch.

Altogether, the faculty and their research teams involved in these programs constitute the "Crnic Institute Supergroup." The Crnic Institute Supergroup is the largest geographical cluster of researchers studying Down syndrome in the world, with over 200 scientists involved.
