The Department of Dermatology includes a Cutaneous Oncology Center where Dermatologic Surgery and the Division of Medical Oncology
are integrated to optimize management of patients with melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
Mohs micrographic surgery is one of the most effective techniques for treating basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas, the two most common types of skin cancer. The Department of Dermatology hosts a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, Dr. Mariah Brown, who has advanced expertise in Mohs surgery and reconstruction and is recognized as a national leader in the field.
In addition to Mohs surgery and other surgical treatments of skin cancer, our surgeons provide surgical management of benign skin growths and scars.
