Educational Facilities


The Anschutz Cancer Pavilion is the largest academic health center west of Chicago and north of Texas, and one of the nation’s newest education, research, and patient care facilities. The site houses most of our sub-specialty clinics and manages highly complex referral cases. Clinical research focuses on atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, CTCL, melanoma, and non-melanoma skin cancer.

Children's Hospital Colorado is the largest pediatric medical center within our seven-state region. US News and World Report ranks it as one of the best children's hospitals in the country for more than a decade. The site houses a permanent pediatric dermatology clinic and procedural suite. It is a major referral center for patients with vascular anomalies and surgical conditions requiring procedural treatment strategies. The sub-specialty foci includes genetic skin disorders and epidermolysis bullosa or wound healing.

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center opened in 2018. The site focuses on epidemiologic dermatology, and both short-term and long-term management of skin cancer. Teledermatology allows providers to serve geographically isolated patients in neighboring states.

25% of all Denver residents receive their medical care at Denver Health Medical Center. The site serves a diverse and underinsured patient population who tend to have more advanced, undiagnosed dermatologic disease. Adult, pediatric, and surgical dermatology clinics are held weekly.

    The Melanoma Research Foundation is honored to award this year's Excellence in Prevention Award at the 2020 Denver Virtual Gala to Dr. Robert Dellavalle of Denver VA Medical Center. Dr. Dellavalle leads a prominent research laboratory focused on skin disease prevention and evidence-based dermatology that was the first to summarize global indoor UV tanning age restriction laws, measure compliance with tanning age restrictions, and to call for a tax on UV tanning. He is an amazing melanoma awareness advocate and MRF supporter. Dr. Torres-Zegarra has already recorded nearly a dozen interviews with a variety of pediatric experts across Latin America and from Children’s Hospital Colorado, anticipating even broader success and engagement compared to Charting Pediatrics. The Podcast team is excited to be first to market a Podcast to provide timely pediatric medical education to Spanish-speaking providers and expand the reach and exposure of their pediatric expertise from Children’s Colorado that encompasses diverse voices.
