Family Matters Longitudinal Cohort
The Family Matters Study is an observational cohort study that follows families with children ages 5-17 over time to examine multi-level determinants of whole-person health. Approximately every two years families participate in mixed methods data collection which includes any combination of the following measures: online surveys, anthropometrics (e.g. height, weight, neck circumference), ecological momentary assessment (EMA) or mHealth data collection via their mobile devices, geographic information system (GIS) mapping, biological data collection (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, lipids, glucose, HbA1c), hair cortisol, carotenoids, accelerometry/wearables, dietary recalls, location tracking/built environment assessment, and qualitative interviews. We have collected four waves of data collection with families in Minnesota and one wave of data collection with families in Georgia. New data collection with families in Colorado will start soon.
