All Coloradans experience health hazards caused by environmental factors, particularly those in rural and frontier communities. Due to limited time and formal education in environmental health, Colorado clinicians often have gaps in their knowledge when it comes to these important topics.
In partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), this series covers key environmental health topics, including heavy metals poisoning, emerging environmental contaminants, and indoor and outdoor air quality. Specific topics such as mold, extreme heat, wildfire smoke, PFAS, lead, toxic algae, and more will be covered. Participants also learn more about sources of exposure, who is at greater risk when exposed, and resources and tools for you and your patients.
