Continuing Medical Education

Learn. Earn credit. Improve patient care.

The Care Collaborative offers free continuing education (CE) opportunities designed to help healthcare professionals strengthen their knowledge while earning CE credit. Our accredited educational programs are built around real clinical challenges and developed with leading faculty and subject matter experts across CU Anschutz and the state.

Why Learn with The Care Collaborative?

Continuing education should do more than fulfill a requirement. Our programs help clinicians:

  • Stay current with emerging evidence
  • Build confidence managing complex conditions
  • Learn directly from interdisciplinary specialists
  • Connect with peers across Colorado
  • Improve care for the patients they serve

Types of CE Available

Many ECHO series along with our online offerings offer CE credit for eligible participants. Depending on the program, learners may earn:

  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) as AAFP Prescribed Credit. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed credit, not as Category 1 CME through the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians
  • Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) approved by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation

How to Receive Credit

  1. Register for an eligible program.
  2. Attend the live session(s) or complete the online training.
  3. Complete the required evaluation by the specified date.
  4. Upon evaluation submission, you can expect a Certificate of Participation within 3-4 weeks. The Care Collaborative does not apply for CE on your behalf, and you should only report the number of credit hours earned based on your participation to your professional organization.
