ECHO On-Demand: Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention

Childhood lead exposure remains a critical yet preventable public health concern in Colorado, with lasting effects on children’s neurological, behavioral and developmental health. This in-depth, four-module online series equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools to recognize, test for, report and prevent lead exposure in children. Participants will explore the science and epidemiology of lead toxicity, identify high-risk populations and sources, and apply best practices for screening and case management. Modules will also address community-based prevention strategies, effective caregiver education, and current policy and advocacy efforts supporting primary prevention. Learners can expect practical, evidence-based guidance to improve detection, coordination, and prevention efforts across clinical and public health settings.
