This position will provide primarily outpatient clinical services but will be expected to provide regular coverage of inpatient shifts periodically. The qualified candidate will be appointed to the rank of Instructor within the Department.
Key Responsibilities: The physician assistant/nurse practitioner will work under the supervision of the faculty otolaryngologist to provide both inpatient and outpatient care, at the Anschutz Medical Campus and network of care. The physician assistant/nurse practitioner is to work under the supervision of the faculty pediatric otolaryngologists to provide primarily outpatient care. He/she will be expected to become proficient in our electronic medical record system (EPIC) and be able to chart, obtain data and use all the communication tools.
Assist in the education of nurses and medical assistants in the field of otolaryngology.
Provide administrative support and thorough follow-up to ensure orderly, effective, and superior patient care. This may include the development and implementation of educational materials or protocols for staff and patients. This full-time faculty position will focus primarily on inpatient care of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with blood and cancer disorders. You will integrate within the multi-disciplinary including other advanced practice providers in delivering outstanding inpatient care for pediatric hematology and oncology patients. This position will include rotational coverage assignments including weekdays and weekends along with rotational/shared holiday coverage support for patients in the CCBD according to the University of Colorado policies and calendars.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Provide independent care of pediatric hematology-oncology patients in the inpatient hospital service, in partnership with other members of the multi-disciplinary inpatient team.
Write medication and chemotherapy orders in collaboration with physicians and advanced practice providers.

Seasonal PA | Ongoing | Vail Summit Orthopaedics is looking for a Physician Assistant to provide healthcare services including tentative diagnosis and treatment of injuries under the supervision of Dr. Seiter. This is a full-time position, with on-call and weekend hours required occasionally. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct physical examinations using medical instruments and equipment to assess mobility and strength. Assess characteristics of patients’ pain such as intensity, location, or duration using standardized clinical measures.
Administer or order tests, analyses, and diagnostic images, and analyze reports and findings of tests and of examination.
Oversee maintenance of case histories, health examination reports, and other medical records.
Propose diagnosis of condition, and administer or prescribe treatments, drugs and rehabilitation, as applicable, under the supervision of a Physician. Attend to patients in the clinic or hospital, and reexamine disability cases periodically to verify progress. Provide instructions and education regarding medications and treatment.
Monitor effectiveness of pain management interventions such as medication or spinal injections.
Document examination results, treatment plans, and patients’ outcomes in a timely manner and within HCFA guidelines and audit requirements. Triage patient telephone calls, provide consultation and document as necessary in medical record.
Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Assist in operating room with patient set-up, surgical procedure and PACU orders and care, demonstrating competency and exactness. Use proper infection control procedures adopted by affiliated Surgery Centers and hospitals.

APP (Instructor) | Ongoing | The Division of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine has a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position available at the rank of Instructor for a Pediatric General Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Under the direction of the full-time faculty or designee, this position provides inpatient and outpatient medical care services at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO).
Key Responsibilities: The candidate will be expected to provide independent clinical services for all areas of Pediatric General Surgery including the Trauma Acute Care Surgery (TACS) Service, Pediatric Specialty Service (PSS), and rotate through the outpatient surgery clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO). Duties will include primarily inpatient responsibilities such as rounding, writing orders/progress notes, consults, discharge, patient assessment, patient education, care coordination, disease management, and minor procedures. Close collaboration with pediatric general surgeons, sub-specialty surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, residents/fellows, and hospital staff will be necessary. Professional interaction with referring physicians and staff, emergency medical personnel, and primary care providers is essential. The candidate will provide care to patients in the pediatric intensive care unit, acute care areas, and in the outpatient clinics. The work schedule may include up to 13hr shifts, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Location: Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
