Save the Dates: Faculty Head Shot Sessions
CU Medicine is hosting the next faculty head shot sessions on June 14 and 16.
These are open sessions for SOM providers who hold a faculty appointment and each person takes less than 3 minutes, so there is no need to sign up for a time. Details below:Time: 11:00am–1:00pm

- Please note: Provider credentials and faculty rank are both maintained at the department level via the CU SOM faculty affairs office. Please email SOMSupport@ucdenver.edu to request credential and academic title changes.
- Providers can not login to FIMS and update their CU Medicine profile until their official start date with their department at the CU School of Medicine.
Injury & Violence Prevention Resources
The Injury & Violence Prevention Center is a collaborative initiative of the Colorado School of Public
Health and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The center supports researchers, practitioners and students in supporting injury prevention in areas such as suicide and violence prevention, unintentional injury prevention such as motor vehicle
safety, falls and burns prevention, child maltreatment prevention, and opioid overdose prevention.
- The Injury and Violence Prevention Center has monthly webinars. Please contact Dr. Betz (marian.betz@cuanschutz.edu) if you would like to be featured as a speaker.
- The Center runs two works-in-progress groups, one focused on firearm injury prevention research and one focused on junior researchers. Contact Dr. Betz (marian.betz@cuanschutz.edu) for more information on how we can support the development of your research.
- Student Opportunities:
- Twice a year we offer Student Research Grant Applications. For the next round, the deadline to apply is May 30. See an overview of the grant.
- If you would like an MPH or DrPH to support your research, the Injury Center can help recruit students.

$200 Million Commitment to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Fuels Advancements in Treatments and Cures
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus recently announced the creation of the Gates Institute—a new institute to help scientists develop cell and gene therapeutics more effectively. The institute was made possible by a philanthropic investment from the Gates Frontiers Fund in partnership with CU Anschutz. Read more.
