What Drives Our Work

Founding the Lipids Clinic at CU Anschutz

Dr EckelRobert Eckel MD, FAHA, FACC, FNLA

Emeritus - Professor of Physiology and Biophysics

Charles A. Boettcher Endowed Chair in Atherosclerosis Medicine

The team is grateful for the considerable contributions of Dr. Eckel as the founder of the Cardiometabolic & Advanced Lipid Clinic. Dr. Eckel's translational research has incorporated data from populations, human subjects in the Clinical Translational Research Center, genetically-modified mice and tissue culture to pursue mechanistic relationships between metabolic disorders such as obesity/metabolic syndrome/diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
