Histology Staining

The CVP Histopathology Core Laboratory provides comprehensive, high-quality tissue processing and imaging services to support basic, translational, and clinical research. The Core offers expertise in tissue embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining, immunohistochemistry (IHC), tissue microarray (TMA) construction, and laser capture microdissection (LCM). We work closely with investigators to develop and optimize protocols, validate antibodies, and ensure reproducible, publication-ready results. Through rigorous quality control, standardized workflows, and responsive technical support, the Histology Core serves as a reliable shared resource that advances multidisciplinary research initiatives and collaborative projects.

Histology Core Services

The Histology Core provides end-to-end tissue processing and advanced histopathology support for research investigators. Our services include:

  • Tissue Processing & Embedding: FFPE processing, paraffin embedding, and block preparation
  • Sectioning (Microtomy): Routine and specialized sectioning at custom thicknesses
  • Routine Staining: H&E staining and standard histochemical stains
  • Special Stains: Custom and disease-specific histochemical staining upon request
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Antibody optimization, protocol development, single and multiplex IHC
  • Antibody Validation: Testing and qualification of new antibodies
  • Digital Slide Scanning: High-resolution whole-slide imaging
  • Image Analysis & Quantification: Semi-quantitative and quantitative analysis of IHC stains
  • Tissue Microarray (TMA) Construction: Design and preparation of TMA blocks with lesion-specific cores
  • Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM): Protocol development and sample preparation for molecular downstream applications, and customer training.
