The University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus is committed to addressing the epidemic of burnout and psychological distress in healthcare professionals. Our critical care-focused research group is an established multidisciplinary team with extensive experience studying Burnout Syndrome in health care providers. In the past decade, our team has enrolled over 2,000 healthcare providers in quantitative and qualitative research and investigator-initiated trials related to well-being. This is our first trial exploring the link between the creative arts and occupational health.

The National Endowment for the Arts Research Labs is a national program that permits transdisciplinary research teams, grounded in the social and behavioral sciences, to engage with NEA's five-year research agenda. he National Endowment for the Arts Research Labs (NEA Research Labs) program will yield empirical insights about the arts. Sustained methods of inquiry into these topic areas will have distinctive benefits for the arts community, but also for sectors such as healthcare, education, and business or management.




Ponzio Creative Arts Therapy Program logo

The Ponzio Creative Arts Therapy Program serves children and adolescents through the Pediatric Mental Health Institute and Family Services Division of the Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, the Ponzio creative arts therapists create psychodynamic interventions targeted to optimize benefit for both patients and families. Through group interventions, individual treatment, multi-family experiences, and staff resilience work, the Ponzio Program offers a strengths-based approach, allowing patients, families, and staff members to expand their perspective, using metaphor to foster awareness, communication, and ultimately, healing.

Lighthouse Writers Workshop is the largest literary arts center in the Rocky Mountain West. Our mission is to provide the highest caliber of artistic education, support, and community for writers and readers in the Rocky Mountain Region and beyond. To achieve that mission, we’ve offered free, collaborative, community engagement programs throughout Colorado for more than 20 years, getting people writing and helping them share those stories in surprising, joyful ways.
