Gabriel Yuen's Capstone Project Gets Published
Gabriel and the catheterization lab team at Children's Hospital Colorado publishes in Pediatric Cardiology
Feb 25, 2025
MHA Class of 2023 alumnus, Gabriel Yuen, and team recently published, "Valve Frame Geometry and Arrhythmia Risk Following Self‑Expanding Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Replacement" in peer reviewed journal, Pediatric Cardiology. The manuscript is based on Gabriel's MHA Capstone Project work with Dr. Jenny Zablah, Dr. Natalie Soszyn, and the interventional cardiology/catheterization laboratory team at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO).
Gabriel noted, "Working with Dr. Zablah and the whole CHCO cath
lab team on this project for my capstone showed me how research can be used to
address issues that patients face in real-time. I learned how academic medicine
can be used to explore questions that providers face while caring for patients.
As I prepare to start medical school, I am reflecting a lot on experiences like
this to inform the kind of physician and scientist I hope to be. I am super
excited about this publication and am proud to have worked with such an amazing
team on the project!"
Gabriel is currently a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at University of Colorado Hospital, and will start medical school this upcoming Fall semester. Congratulations to Gabriel and his team of collaborators!
