APP Balint Groups Forming—Sign Up Now

Balint logo Balint Groups have helped clinicians worldwide improve their ability to connect with and care for their patients. The supportive environment of a small group of colleagues helps clinicians reduce burnout and rediscover joy in medicine. New APP Balint Groups are now forming:

  • 3rd Sunday of the month from 5–6pm, beginning May 22. Led by Katie Dickerman and Amitha Gumidyala. Contact Katherine.Dickerman@cuanschutz.edu to join. 
     
  • 2nd Friday of the month from 11am–Noon, beginning July 8. This in-person group (location TBD) is led by Matt Pesko and Maria Vejar. Contact Matthew.Pesko@dhha.org to join.

Mental Health Month ImageMental health stigma causes people to feel ashamed for something over which they have no control. Worst, it can prevent people from seeking the help they need. For a group of people who already carry such a heavy burden, stigma is an unacceptable addition to their pain. And, while stigma has reduced in recent years for those who work in health care, the pace of progress has not been quick enough.

  • Encourage Equality Between Physical And Mental Illness
  • Show Compassion For Those With Mental Illness
