Amanda Miller-Sarmento

Amanda Miller-Sarmento, AGACNP-BC | March 2022-2023 Cohort

Amanda is from Tamarac, Florida. She graduated from the University of South Alabama in December 2019. Before becoming a fellow, she worked as an NP for plastic and reconstructive surgery in the wound clinic at UCH. She enjoys running (particularly trail running), hiking, drawing, and painting. If she wasn't working in healthcare, she would run her own bar/brewery!

Elizabeth Freese

Elizabeth Freese, PA-C | March 2022-2023 Cohort

Liz is from Folsom, California. She graduated from the University of Charleston, WV in 2021. Before becoming a fellow, she was a Medical Assistant in an ENT and dermatology office and volunteered at a local hospital. She enjoys hiking and exploring the many trails and mountains Colorado has to offer. If she wasn’t in healthcare, she’d become a professional sourdough bread baker!

Julie Van Saun

Julie Van Saun, PA-C | March 2022-2023 Cohort

Julie is from Keene, New Hampshire. She attended Holly Cross for undergraduate studies in biology. She then attended MCPHS University for PA school and graduated in 2019. Before becoming a fellow, she worked at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut performing OBGYN outpatient clinic and C-section first-assistant duties. She enjoys trail running, hiking, and skiing. If she wasn’t in healthcare, she'd open a coffee shop!  

Kevin Fasing

Kevin Fasing, PA-C | March 2022-2023 Cohort

Kevin is from Denver, Colorado, the “Queen City of the Plains”. He attended Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Before becoming a fellow, he was a secondary science teacher at South High School and an Instructor/APP at CU Department of Orthopedics. He really likes bicycles, and if he wasn’t in healthcare, he’d still be teaching high school biology or would be a full-time dad!

Laura Mattox

Laura Mattox, AGACNP-BC | March 2022-2023 Cohort

Laura is from Vienna, Virginia. She attended the University of Colorado where she earned her Master's Degree in AGACNP. Before becoming a fellow, she worked in in-patient nursing for nine years. She enjoys climbing, hiking, skiing, and being a dog mom! If she wasn’t in healthcare, she’d be embracing van life as a full-time climber.  

Lauren Dailey

Lauren Dailey, PA-C | September 2022-2023 Cohort

Lauren is from Indianapolis, Indiana. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Ball State University and went on to obtain a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. She previously worked as an Inpatient Phlebotomist, and enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, writing, playing guitar, baking, and trying new things. If she was not in healthcare, and had managed to write a best-selling novel, she would be traveling the world and learning different languages.

Ben Haerther

Ben Haerther, PA-C | September 2022-2023 Cohort

Ben is from Atkins, Iowa. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Luther College in Decorah, IA, and attended PA School at the University of Colorado CHA/PA Program. Before becoming a fellow, he worked as a CNA on multiple dementia care units of long-term care facilities and was a PCT in a cardiac catheterization lab. He enjoys trail running, skiing, hiking, rollerblading at Wash Park, camping, exploring new Denver restaurants, and spending time at the lake with his family. If he was not in healthcare, he would be involved with education in some capacity. 

Molly McCullough

Molly McCullough, PA-C | September 2022-2023 Cohort

Molly is from Denver, Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado Physician Assistant Program. Before PA school, she worked as a scribe and Research Assistant. She enjoys hiking, skiing, and reading. If she wasn’t in healthcare, she would be an Environmental Health Researcher!  

Hattie Scott

Hattie Hanson, PA-C | September 2022-2023 Cohort

Hattie is from Foley, Minnesota. She attended the PA Program at the University of Colorado. Prior to PA school, she worked as a CNA on a med/surg/peds floor. She enjoys hiking, reading, walking her dog, and cooking with her husband. If she was not in healthcare, she would love to be a barista in a coffee shop/bookstore!

Cortland Vis

Cortland Vis, PA-C | September 2022-2023 Cohort

Cortland is from Winston Salem, North Carolina. In 2022, she graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine with a Master of Medical Science degree in PA Studies (MMS, PA-C). Before becoming a fellow, she was a CNA in the Emergency Department at Duke Regional Hospital, a Lab Technologist/ Phlebotomist at UNC Chapel Hill, and a Pediatric Cardiology MA at Bailliard Henry Pediatric Cardiology. She enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, walking, running, and anything with animals! If she wasn’t in healthcare, she would be an Engineer.
