Dr. Bailey is chair of the CU Department of Community Dentistry and Population Health and director of the Center for Oral Disease Prevention and Population Health Research. He previously served as Assistant Surgeon General and Chief Dental Officer of the U.S. Public Health Service, and he was acting director of the Oral Health Division at the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. During his career, he worked with vulnerable and underserved populations in diverse settings with the National Health Service Corps, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Guam Department of Health and Social Services, and Indian Health Service. His interests include health equity, integrated health, emerging trends in healthcare, public health practice and oral health epidemiology.
