Jeannie Ritter, BA

Jeannie Ritter began her advocacy work around mental health and wellness while serving as the First Lady of Colorado more than 10 years ago. She continues to work to advance integrated care efforts, increase mental health literacy, expand support and ensure access for mental health services across the community. She served as the co-chair of the legislative task force for House Bill 2013-1296 to make recommendations for updating Colorado’s civil commitment laws. Her 10 years of experience as a teacher in Denver Public Schools reinforced her conviction for supporting all families with behavioral health concerns. Jeannie remains active in the community serving on numerous boards and committees, including the Depression Center, CeDAR (Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation), Rose Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees and Health Committee, the Colorado Coalition for Parity, and the SIM Advisory Board.
