Katie Vagnini is currently pursuing her PhD in clinical health psychology at the University of Colorado Denver. Broadly, her policy interests include prevention, health promotion, and behavioral health integration. Katie has a particular interest in prevention and promotion strategies targeted toward youth, such as school-based interventions. In addition to her focus on social, economic, and system determinants of health, Katie believes in the power of leveraging individual strengths to enhance health and wellbeing. Specifically, she studies the ways in which individual meaning and purpose in life can be used to buffer the effects of stress, facilitate healthy behavior change, and promote health and wellbeing. She has clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient medical and behavioral health settings, and has provided care to a variety of populations.
