Our Mission


To foster a thriving School of Medicine community by measuring what matters, implementing what works, and equipping leaders to succeed.

Our Vision


To lead nationally in advancing workplace well-being by redesigning how healthcare, education, and research work is experienced, supporting CU Anschutz School of Medicine's 'Top 10 in 10' aspiration.


Thrive Objectives


Measure What Matters

  • Conduct biennial well-being surveys for faculty, residents, and fellows
  • Deliver timely dashboards and department-level reports
  • Run targeted pulse checks to respond to emerging needs

Redesign Work 

  • Partner with CU SOM and affiliate leaders on institutional initiatives
  • Integrate well-being metrics into IHQSE quality improvement projects
  • Ensure well-being is factored into leadership and operational decisions

Equip Leaders and Support Departments

  • Train and resource Well-Being Leaders (WBLs) to drive local action
  • Facilitate retreats, town halls, and workshops
  • Expand peer support for adverse events, bereavement, transitions, and retirement
  • Connect faculty with trained coaches
  • Deliver seminars and expert consultation on well-being and leadership

Build Connections & Share Progress

  • Publish a biennial State of Well-Being report
  • Communicate survey findings and track progress across CU SOM
  • Recognize departments demonstrating improvement
  • Organize COMPASS-style small groups to foster community and connection
