Message from Judy Regensteiner, PhD, Ludeman Center Director and Co-founder
A Reflection of 2023
Jan 12, 2024As I look at the past year, I am in awe of all the incredible work happening at the Ludeman Center. Our incredible team of researchers, senior faculty, staff and Community Advisory Board are making our vision a reality and improving the health of women, their families and communities around the world.
Women’s Health Matters is the first of its kind for the Ludeman Center. It is a celebration of all that is made possible by our team and community. The stories you’ll read reflect just a few examples of the ways that the Ludeman Center is transforming women’s health and sex differences research. Of note, you will read about three Ludeman Center scientists doing incredible work in our focus areas — cardiovascular disease, diabetes and the intersection of physical and mental health.
We also have an article highlighting our efforts to increase diversity, equity and inclusion to improve women’s health. These efforts in health equity demonstrate how the support of donors in the community can launch partnerships with institutions around the country – specifically Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. Our investments in intersectional health equity are driving science to ensure we are helping improve the health of everyone in our community.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our work and for joining us on the journey to support new, life-saving discoveries and learn more about women’s health across the lifespan. Our work is only possible because of you. Thank you.
