Orthopedics and Prosthetics

Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering focuses on understanding the mechanics of human movement across healthy and impaired populations. Using motion analysis, musculoskeletal modeling, and clinical studies, students and faculty study muscle and joint function to inform rehabilitation strategies and the design of advanced prosthetics. This work includes the development of custom devices using technologies like 3D printing, translating directly into solutions that improve mobility, independence, and quality of life.
