The Jacot Lab for Pediatric Regenerative Medicine engineers biomaterials that direct stem cells to build 3D, laboratory-grown heart tissue.
The laboratory location at the Anschutz Medical Campus allows lab members to work alongside surgeons, clinicians, radiologists, and biologists to understand the clinical needs in congenital heart defect management and repair. We develop translational solutions using patient stem cells and regenerative medicine to repair defects.
Working with clinicians, the lab develops translational solutions with stem cells and regenerative medicine to repair congenital heart defects. We grow heart tissue from cells found in amniotic fluid to fix heart defects in newborns, eliminating the need for heart transplants or multiple and complex surgeries.
