The University of Colorado Cancer Center is interested in supporting Cancer Center member investigators’ efforts to secure NCI, NIH, and other national peer-reviewed cancer research grants. To this end, the Cancer Center has created an “Across the Finish Line” funding opportunity to enable investigators to address reviewer comments on grant proposals that just missed the payline. Two (2) Limited Submission opportunities available for outstanding junior faculty members – one who is conducting mainstream or conventional research and one who is conducting complementary or integrative research. Please review the attached RFA for a complete list of eligibility requirements and more detailed information regarding the types of proposals that will be entertained. Only one submission per institution is allowed for each of these opportunities. The V Scholar grant supports young, independent investigators early in their cancer research careers by funding adult cancer projects that are either laboratory-based fundamental research or translational research. The V Scholar grant is intended to support research that will enable junior faculty to secure R01 or equivalent grants. There is a special interest this year in colorectal cancer.
