The answer is sometimes. FQHCs and RHCs cannot bill for eConsults but can include time spent on eConsults for Medicaid patients on your cost report. Other clinics can use the CPT code 99452 to request reimbursment for time spent on an eConsult. However, most requesting providers who've tried to bill for eConsults this way have found it to be challenging for two reasons: 1) the 16+ minute time requirement must be documented and 2) the date of service must be documented as the date that the eConsult was answered.
