The University of Colorado School of Medicine Robert B. Rutherford Fellowship in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy (5+2) is a University Hospital and Veteran's Administration based two-year fellowship program. The program has been accredited by the ACGME since July of 2013.
Our training program encompasses all aspects of vascular and endovascular surgery techniques and patient care. Vascular fellows participate in the diagnosis, preoperative care, operative procedure, and postoperative care for the patients treated on the vascular service. Fellows also actively teach, mentor, and train junior residents and medical students on the service.
The program has completed the recruitment cycle for the academic year 2027-2028. Applications for an August 1, 2028 start date will be accepted through ERAS beginning November 12, 2026. Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
The University of Colorado School of Medicine Robert B. Rutherford Integrated Residency in Vascular Surgery (0+5) is a University Hospital, Veterans Administration, and Community Hospital based, 5-year ACGME accredited residency with the first trainees having joined the program in July 2021.
Our training program encompasses all aspects of vascular and endovascular surgery techniques and patient care. Vascular residents participate in the diagnosis, preoperative care, operative procedure, and postoperative care for the patients treated on the vascular service. Residents also actively teach, mentor, and train junior residents and medical students on the service.
For the categorical intern position to begin June 23, 2027, we will be participating in the Military Match. Candidates interested in this position must apply through the appropriate military graduate medical education process in accordance with their service branch requirements and timelines. The program anticipates returning to participation in the NRMP Match for the subsequent application cycle.
