Our research focuses on improving concussion care by understanding strategies for diagnosis, recovery monitoring, prognosis, and rehabilitation approaches.

Specific areas we currently focus on include:

  • Feasible and Scalable Intervention Strategies
  • Physical Activity & Recovery Outcomes
  • Sleep, Sensorimotor Function & Diagnostic Tools
  • Psychosocial & Academic Impacts
  • Risk Prediction & Clinical Decision-Making

How do we do this?

  • Optimize interventions through personalized, precision-based approaches.
  • Account for individual variability: ‘one size does not fit all’ for concussion management
  • Target modifiable factors to promote recovery.
  • Consider non-modifiable factors to inform risk stratification and care

Are you looking for concussion care?

We know that finding the right care after a concussion can be challenging. The Colorado Concussion Research Laboratory is dedicated to research aimed at improving our understanding of concussion, recovery, and outcomes. We are a research laboratory affiliated with Children’s Hospital Colorado and do not provide direct clinical care or schedule patient appointments. If you are looking for evaluation or treatment for yourself or your child, please see The Concussion Program at Children's Hospital Colorado website for more details on clinical care.
