Neuroscience research often depends on animal models –mostly rodents. Being able to objectively quantify variations in the behavioral phenotype of those models is a cornerstone of the Neuroscience endeavor. The Animal Behavior Core provides investigators with access to high-quality behavioral testing equipment for mice and rats as well as consultation in all steps (from planning to publishing) of behavioral studies. We are animal behavior specialists with an ethological background and over 25 years of combined experience in behavioral neuroscience.
Dr. Mesches has been the director of the Animal Behavior Core since 2008. He earned his doctorate in Biology from the Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California, Irvine. He has extensive experience facilitating research in animal behavior.
Dr. Busquet is the manager of the Animal Behavior Core. Dr. Busquet earned his doctorate in the Biology of Behavior from the University of Paris 13, France. He has over 15 years of experience in the study of animal behavior, mostly on rodent models.
