Rahul Bohra received his Masters degree in Bioinformatics from India and he is currently a doctoral candidate in the Biophysics and Structural Biology graduate program at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus. His research focuses on finding human biochemical pathways, specifically in the kidney, the identification of molecular mechanisms involved in the chronic renal toxicity of immunosuppressants and their combinations that lead to chronic immunosuppressant toxicity and the related metabolic toxicity biomarkers associated with this event. He utilizes tissue and biofluid NMR, HPLC-MS assays, confocal FRET microscopy, human cell culture and genetic manipulation, gene silencing and proteomics technologies to support his thesis work.
Amanda Crunk completed her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona. She currently is a fourth year graduate student in the Molecular Biology Program at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus. Her research involves using state of the art metabolomics, proteomics and molecular biology research to identify the roles of NFATs in kidney damage caused by calcineurin inhibitors that are used to prevent organ rejection in transplant recipients.
