In addition to Dr. Sanchez’s work at the UT Arlington School of Social Work, she has an appointment at Baylor Scott and White Research Institute, Center for Applied Health Research in Dallas. She practiced as a bilingual clinical social worker for 15 years. Her research interests lie in integrated health care and the provision of socio-culturally models to advance the scientific knowledge around eliminating mental health disparities. Her integrated approach involves promoting sustainability of the model through behavioral health services that expand primary care capacity. Dr. Sanchez investigates system level interventions to understand the adoption of evidence-based practices and organizational barriers and facilitators to adopt clinical practice guidelines, including social determinants of health that result in high impact, innovative strategies to better address mental health.
