Context
In 1996, the Institute of Medicine released a report, Primary Care: America’s Health in a New Era, that called for many changes that have yet to come to fruition 25 years later. The committee writing this updated primary care report was charged with developing an implementation plan for recommendations, using the 1996 report as a starting point. This implementation plan is driving conversations now on policy changes needed for primary care.
The journal club focused on the executive summary, implementation plan, and chapters related to payment, measurement, workforce, and digital health.
