This annual gathering of the CU community highlights creative approaches, new research, and inspiring advances in health professions education. Presenters will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues across campus and spark meaningful conversations about the future of teaching and learning.

Proposal Guidelines


Who can present

Proposals are welcome from anyone involved in health professions education, including:
  • Students
  • Trainees
  • Faculty
  • Staff
  • Individuals
  • Groups

Eligible Projects

Projects at any stage are encouraged—whether at the initial design phase, in progress, or fully completed.

Work presented or published within the past year is also welcomed.


Presentation
Formats

Presentation Types

Proposals are accepted for the following presentation formats—each offering a unique way to engage colleagues. You will be required to indicate your preferred format when submitting your proposal.

Abstracts

Oral or poster presentation that provides an overview of a singular project. These can include works in progress or completed projects.

Panel Presentation

Panels bring together groups of individuals to provide distinct perspectives on hot topics or issues within medical education.

Workshops

Hands-on group sessions intended to provide distinct perspectives on hot topics or issues within medical education.

Virtual & In-Person Delivery

 

Oral presentations and panels are offered in person on the first day of the symposium and virtually on the second day. When submitting, you will be asked to indicate your preferred delivery format. While every effort will be made to honor preferences, specific formats cannot be guaranteed.

Focus on Innovation

We welcome submissions that highlight innovative approaches or research in health professions education across all contexts, specialties, and learner groups. Examples include:

  • Teaching methods in classroom, clinical, community, or virtual settings
  • New curricula or educational programs
  • Learner assessment and program evaluation strategies
  • Approaches to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Innovations supporting wellness, morale, and engagement
Topic Categories

All proposals must fit within one of the following categories. You will be asked to select the best match when submitting:

  • Assessment of learners
  • Career development, professionalism, and well-being
  • Novel curriculum, educational methods, and technologies
  • Diversity, health equity, and social determinants of health
  • Interprofessional and team learning
  • Medical ethics and humanities
  • Faculty development
  • Patient safety education

Don't forget to register for the symposium.

Symposium registration must be completed separately from proposal submission.

Ready to submit your proposal?

Follow these steps:

  1. Prepare your materials. The form does not save progress, so gather all required information in advance for a smooth submission.
  2. Submit your proposal. Use the submission form linked below.
  3. Register for the symposium. Registration is a separate step from proposal submission; completing both at the same time helps prevent missed deadlines.
