Research Focus

​​Drs. Cox-Martin and Kolva are trained as clinical health psychologists, with a focus in the field of Psycho-Oncology. Their research spans the cancer care continuum, including prevention, active treatment, survivorship, and end of life.  Within this research, they focus on better understanding how mental health is impacted by the cancer experience.   Current areas of focus include suicidal ideation in cancer survivors, radiotherapy related distress, management of treatment related chronic pain, health behavior change in cancer survivors, and development of evidence-based psychotherapy interventions for cancer patients.
