Canvas access has been restored for our users, but the service reliability remains uncertain. Due to recent events, Canvas has had intermittent outages which are at the discretion of the vendor and may occur during a final exam. Faculty and staff may continue to use Canvas, but we strongly advise faculty and students to prepare a contingency plan for turning in assignments and final exams in the event Canvas access becomes unavailable again.
Instructure, the company that owns Canvas, has provided an FAQ about the incident, which may not answer all your questions. We will share more information if it becomes available.
There are many ways you can support CU. All of them create a better future.
For over 50 years the University of Colorado Foundation has partnered with the University of Colorado to enhance philanthropic support for CU. Private support for the University, given through the philanthropic port of the Foundation, enables the University to transform lives through education, research, clinical care, and community engagement.
The state of Colorado provides less than 6 percent of the university’s $3.5 billion operating budget, down from more than 25 percent in 1990. Private support, which, in 2015, comprised a larger share of CU’s budget than funding received from the state of Colorado, is an important and increasingly fundamental component of CU’s budget. Targeted donor support for strategic priorities allows the university to attract and retain the best and brightest faculty, provide scholarships, build first-class facilities and direct education and research toward filling community needs and solving societal problems.
