Opioid/Substance Use Disorder Training Resources

1. Physicians must complete at least 2 hours of substance use disorder training for Colorado medical license renewal every 2 years (e.g. CME courses, self-study, peer review, volunteering, teaching). Exemptions: national board certification that requires equivalent substance use prevention training, or attestation that the healthcare provider does not prescribe opioids
2. DEA registration renewal requires one-time verification of at least 8 hours of approved training about the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.
