This symposium is hosted by PIKE-PREP (Preparation in Interdisciplinary Knowledge to Excel - Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program) and ASCENT (Advancement of Scholars in Cancer Education aNd Training), which are supported by the NIGMS and ACS, respectively.

The research symposium provides participants in MARC, NIH PREP, ACS DICR Post-Baccalaureate, and IMSD programs the opportunity to present their research in a supportive environment.

Symposium Location

The Symposium will be held at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado in Krugman Hall, located in Research 2 Building (RC2).

Symposium Parking

Symposium parking is available in the visitor lots at a rate of $1.00 per hour, up to a maximum of 8 hours. The daily maximum rate is $8.00. On weekends and campus holidays, the flat rate is $1.00.

Abstract submission deadline Friday, March 14th, 2025 at 11:59 pm MT.

If you are a student/scholar in a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship, NIH RISE, NIH MARC, NIH PREP, ACS DICR, or NIH IMSD program, you are eligible to present at the U-GRAPH Research Symposium.

All abstracts from post-baccalaureate scholars currently participating in an NIH PREP or ACS DICR program will be reviewed for oral presentation

All other students/scholars will be reviewed for poster presentation.   

Abstracts need to be 300 words or less (the title and authors do not count towards this word count).

U-GRAPH Travel Award Process and Criteria

We are pleased to offer travel awards to support post-baccalaureate scholar participation in the upcoming U-GRAPH symposium. Each award will cover the cost of one hotel room at the Springhill Suites for up to two nights during symposium dates (max value approx. $300).

 

How to Apply: Eligible participants should apply for the travel award on the abstract submission form, found in the “Abstract Submission” tile on this page. You will need to state how this travel award will help your training and what other funding sources, if any, you are receiving and from whom. There is a 150-character limit. 

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Post-baccalaureate Scholar Status: The applicant must be a scholar currently enrolled in an NIH PREP (Post-baccalaureate Research Education Program) or ACS DICR (American Cancer Society Diversity in Cancer Research) post-baccalaureate program. 
  2. Symposium Registration: The applicant must have already registered for U-GRAPH at the time of abstract submission.
  3. Lodging at Springhill Suites: Attendees must stay at the symposium hotel The Springhill Suites for the duration of the symposium.
  4. Attend both days of the symposium: Awardees must attend the symposium in its entirety. 
  5. Abstract Submission and Acceptance: The applicant must complete the abstract submission form, and the abstract must be accepted for presentation at U-GRAPH in either oral or poster format.
