Perinatal Mental Health Program
No matter where you are in your pregnancy or postpartum journey, we want you to know that you’re not alone and your emotional well-being matters.
You deserve care that meets this moment with expertise, compassion, and respect.
With a full spectrum of care, we are here to support in any capacity.
Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS) are a group of mental health conditions that can affect people during pregnancy and up to one year after giving birth. PMADs can include depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, postpartum psychosis, and more.
This is the most common complication for women in pregnancy and the postpartum period and it affects 1 in 11 women in the state of Colorado. Only half of women diagnosed with PMADs get the help they need.
PMADs can range from mild to severe and can manifest in a variety of forms including lack of interest in your baby or difficulty bonding, disturbance of eating or sleep, feelings of hopelessness, or unwanted thoughts about harming yourself or your baby.
If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, know that you are not alone! Healthy Expectations was designed to support women going through this difficult time through therapeutic interventions. Connect with us today to learn more.
PIPER: a Perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Colorado’s first and only comprehensive mental health care program designed specifically for the perinatal period. It offers structured, multidisciplinary, and evidence-based care for individuals who need more frequent and sustained support than traditional outpatient therapy throughout pregnancy and the first postpartum year.
The program helps participants gain momentum in their treatment and build a strong foundation for long-term wellness. Parents are encouraged to bring their infants to in-person sessions, with access to an adjacent playroom to support bonding and comfort.
Offered both virtually and in person, PIPER is here to support you.
